Bio
Andy Baker is chief investment officer of Curi Capital, responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the firm’s investment platform. He chairs the Investment Committee, as well as the Risk and Asset Allocation Committees, and works closely with Curi Capital’s three investment teams—Equities, Fixed Income, and Private Markets—to promote quality, consistency, and collaboration in support of client outcomes.
Andy joined Curi Capital in 2008 and held a variety of leadership roles prior to being promoted to CIO in 2026. Most recently, he led manager selection for both traditional and alternative investments, overseeing the sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of approximately $3.5 billion in assets across public and private equity, fixed income, hedge funds, real estate, and other real assets. In this role, he managed a global team of analysts investing across asset classes and vehicles, including private equity funds, hedge funds, direct investments, mutual funds, and separately managed accounts.
Andy also led the development and expansion of the firm’s private investment platform, establishing three fund series across credit, private equity, and real estate. Through these initiatives, he helped raise and deploy more than $350 million into private funds, direct investments, and customized accounts. From 2015 to 2020, Andy served as portfolio manager of the Iron Road Funds, where he designed and managed a series of three multi-strategy hedge funds in collaboration with four internal hedge fund teams. In January 2021, the firm made a strategic decision to spin out its hedge fund business.
Prior to joining Curi Capital, Andy spent six years at Northern Trust, initially working with third-party investment managers and later advising institutional investment clients.
Andy earned a BA in Economics and Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a CFA® Charterholder, a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, and a board member of Youth & Opportunity United in Evanston.
