Bio

John O’Connor serves as the Director of Research at Curi Capital, where he is responsible for leading the investment philosophy and process for the firm’s equity team. In addition to his leadership role, he is the Portfolio Manager for the Select Equity, Equity Income, and Growth Equity strategies, as well as the RMB Fund mutual fund. John also provides critical analytical insights as a subject matter expert in the Industrials sector, supporting research efforts across the firm’s broader equity strategies.

John’s tenure with the firm began in 2017 when the IronBridge team combined with RMB Capital. He initially joined IronBridge in 2006 as an Industrial sector analyst, playing a pivotal role in the creation of the firm’s proprietary valuation model and research platform before being named co-portfolio manager of the IronBridge Large Cap mutual fund in 2011.

Before his time at IronBridge, John served as a Vice President of Equities in the HOLT division of Credit Suisse Group. It was during this period, starting in 2000, that he was introduced to the lifecycle and economic return framework that serves as the foundation for Curi Capital’s investment philosophy today. His professional background also includes four years of experience as an analyst at two independent registered investment advisors (RIAs).

John earned a BS in Finance from Butler University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a CFA® Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
